ABOUT US

We’d like to welcome you to our garden, where we embrace Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. The garden is made up of 7-21 year old minority girls, council members and CEO Janelle B. Floyd. We are planted in South Florida, however our branches reach as far as Malawi, Africa. We are a non-profit, 501(C)3 serving young girls who are eager to grow in Confidence, Christ and Community. We refer to the girls’ as ‘Sunflowers’ because we highlight the parallel growth process in which a flower and young girl experience. An actual Sunflower is bright, strong, resilient and multi-purposed, similar to a girl in Christ. We are constantly watering our Sunflowers with interactive bible studies and workshops because with proper nourishment a seed blossoms into a beautiful, vibrant and unique flower.

Congratulations to the Sunflowers for winning 2nd place in the Young At Art Recycled Fashion Show 2022

The Sunflowers designed a dress out of recycled materials to bring awareness to ocean environmental issues. The environmental issue they chose was coral bleaching, which is when coral begins to lose its vibrant color mainly due to pollution.  They showcased their sustainable, recycled, couture fashions in a NY style fashion show and won 2nd place!

Girl's in Christ is a 501(C)3 Christian Ministry Program based out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. GIC is for minority girls between the ages of 13 and 18 who are eager to grow in Confidence, Christ and Community. Our unique social-emotional programs are Girl-Centered and focus on self-esteem, spiritual development, leadership and community engagement. Through bible studies, workshops, and community service activities GIC makes for a divine program.

Girls in Christ Incorporated (GIC Inc.) is a 501(C)3 Christian ministry program based out of Ft. Lauderdale, FL for minority girls between the ages of 13 and 18 who are eager to grow in Confidence, Christ and Community. Our unique social-emotional programs are Girl-Centered and focus on self-esteem, spiritual development, leadership and community engagement. Through bible studies, workshops, and community service activities, GIC intertwines critical thinking, spiritual connectedness and self-love into one divine program.We refer to the girls’ as ‘Sunflowers’ because we highlight the similar growth process in which a flower and child experience. We know with proper nourishment a seed blossoms into a beautiful, strong, unique flower; as does a young girl.
